Media Day 62 - Portrayals of Social Class in the Media

Objective:  Establish a basis for studying portrayals and construction of social class in the media.

Task: Good morning! When you arrive to class, please read OR listen to "The Middle Class Through the Hollywood Lens" (Marketplace, 6/28/2013).  Then write a reflection and post it too the assignment dropbox.  Next, you'll work on "Examining Social Class in the Media."  Although you'll work on this by yourself today, you will have time to meet with others to prepare for your presentation on Monday.  Finally, if you finish before the end of class, please read the "Class Dismissed" factsheet.

Due Dates: 

• Monday, May 2 - Wednesday, May 4 - Bring headphones or earbuds to class!
