2 Hour Delay - No PAW
Objective: Apply the characteristics and elements of culture. Consider history as an interpretive exercise. Summarize major developments in each of the major historical ears.
Task: Happy Friday! When you arrive to class, please find a partner and get a whiteboard, marker, and eraser. We'll spend the first few minutes of class applying our understanding of culture. Then, we'll talk about your periodization activity and "big history" as presented by David Christian. Finally, we'll spend the last portion of class defining the major historical eras.
Homework Due Dates:
- TODAY - Watch "A History of the World in 18 Minutes" (David Christian, TED Talk) (also linked in "Human Evolution & Historical Development" folder) BEFORE class
- Monday, February 5 - "Becoming Human" discussion in class (Watch interactive video and/or read the transcript)
- Tuesday, February 6 - Imperialism discussion (follow directions on Schoology)
- Wednesday, February 7 - Foundations Investigation due in Schoology - Questions 48 & 49 must be comments on the class blog
- Thursday, February 8 - PAW 1
- Friday, February 9 - Unit 1 Test
