DAY 1 - PAW 1
Objective: Assess knowledge and understanding of chapter 1 in Globalization & Diversity. Define the characteristics and elements of culture. Consider history as an interpretive exercise.
Task: Good morning! When you arrive to class please clear your desks of everything except a pen or pencil and your vocabulary lists. After your lists are checked, you'll have 20 minutes to complete your reading quiz. Then, you'll read through notes on culture and begin working on "Considering Periodization."
Homework Due Dates:
- TODAY - Globalization & Diversity chapter 1 reading quiz (vocabulary list may be used on quiz)
- TODAY - PAW 1
- Thursday, February 1 - "Considering Periodization" (in "Human Evolution & Historical Development" folder) due at the beginning of class
- Friday, February 2 - Watch "A History of the World in 18 Minutes" (David Christian, TED Talk) (also linked in "Human Evolution & Historical Development" folder) BEFORE class
- Monday, February 5 - "Becoming Human" discussion in class (Watch interactive video and/or read the transcript)
- Tuesday, February 6 - Imperialism discussion (follow directions on Schoology)
- Wednesday, February 7 - Foundations Investigation due in Schoology - Questions 48 & 49 must be comments on the class blog

- Friday, February 9 - Unit 1 Test
