Day 1 - PAW 1
Welcome to CP World Cultures! In this course we will utilize the disciplines of anthropology, geography, global studies, and history to explore the world of the past and the present. In order to be successful in this course, it is essential that you develop effective, consistent work and study habits. Further, I encourage you to follow the news and look for connections to our studies. If you find yourself confused or overwhelmed, please email or speak with me right away.
Objective: Introduce class procedures and distribute text books. Begin to develop class rapport.
Task: Good afternoon! Today, we'll begin with the usual first day activities including reading through class rules and signing out textbooks. Then, we'll get to know each other with a brief ice breaker activity.
Homework Due Dates:
- Thursday, January 25 - Student information sheet due by 3:00 pm
- Friday, January 26 - Geography chapter 1, section 1 reading due at the beginning of class
- Friday, January 26 - Parent information sheet and parent email to Mrs. Friday due by 3:00 pm
- Monday, January 29 - Read "How Can We Fix the World if We Can't Read a Map" BEFORE class begins
- Tuesday, January 30 - PAW 5
- Tuesday, January 30 - Read "What Difference Does Language Make?" or "Where People Don't Like to Say No" BEFORE class begins
- Tuesday, February 6 - PAW 5
