DAY 2 - PAW 2
Objective: Identify the characteristics of critical thinking and collaboration. Collaborate to create a lesson on essential social science concepts.
Task: Good morning! Today, I'll spend the first few minutes of class answering any questions you have about the course or class rules. Then we'll work together to define critical thinking and collaboration. Finally, you'll form groups to begin our first project.
Primer Group Task - Create an informative, engaging 8-10 minute lesson to teach your assigned section of the text to your classmates. Be sure to create a digital component for review and/or any student who misses the presentation:
- History - Camryn, Caroline, Kyra

- Culture & Civilization - Alley, Jess, Malaika
- Economics - Emerson, Alexa, Rachel

- TODAY - Read "Rules & Regulations" BEFORE class
- TODAY - Student Information Sheet due by 3:00 pm
- Friday, January 26 - Socratic Seminar on summer reading & current events
- Friday, January 26 - Parent Information Sheet & parent email (if not already sent) to Mrs. Friday due by 3:00 pm
- Monday, January 29 - Report directly to the library
- Tuesday, January 30 - Primer lessons due at beginning of class
- Wednesday, January 31 - Globalization & Diversity chapter 1 reading quiz (vocabulary list may be used on quiz)

- Thursday, February 1 - "Considering Periodization" due at the beginning of class
- Friday, February 2 - Watch "A History of the World in 18 Minutes" (David Christian, TED Talk) BEFORE class
- Monday, February 5 - "Becoming Human" discussion in class (Watch interactive video and/or read the transcript)
- Tuesday, February 6 - Imperialism discussion (follow directions on Schoology)
