DAY 3 - PAW 3
Objective: Engage in an intellectual discussion to review summer reading & current events.
Task: Happy Friday! When you arrive to class please move the desks into a circle for our Socratic seminar. First, we'll discuss the main ideas from your summer reading choices. Then, we'll explore some of the major stories dominating the news. Finally, if any time remains, you'll work with your group on your Primer presentation.
Homework Due Dates:
- TODAY - Socratic Seminar on summer reading & current events
- TODAY - Parent Information Sheet & parent email (if not already sent) to Mrs. Friday due by 3:00 pm
- Monday, January 29 - Report directly to the library
- Tuesday, January 30 - Primer lessons due at beginning of class
- Wednesday, January 31 - Globalization & Diversity chapter 1 reading quiz (vocabulary list may be used on quiz)
- Wednesday, January 31 - PAW 1
- Thursday, February 1 - "Considering Periodization" due at the beginning of class
- Friday, February 2 - Watch "A History of the World in 18 Minutes" (David Christian, TED Talk) BEFORE class
- Monday, February 5 - "Becoming Human" discussion in class (Watch interactive video and/or read the transcript)
- Tuesday, February 6 - Imperialism discussion (follow directions on Schoology)
- Wednesday, February 7 - PAW 1
- Friday, February 9 - Unit 1 Test
