Media Day 6 - Image as Message

Objective:  Establish a basis for studying media.  Consider the role of constructed reality in media messages.

Task:  Good morning!  When you arrive to class, please get out your "Taking A Second Look!"  charts.  We'll spend the first few minutes of class discussing your examples.  Then, we'll conduct a quick experiment before continuing our exploration of images.  Finally, I'll introduce "Constructing Images" project.

Homework:

• TODAY - "Taking a Second Look!" presentations
• Friday, February 5 - Newspapers/magazines due in class for extra credit (2 points for each school appropriate source - up to 10 bonus points/student)
• Monday, February 8 - "Constructing Images" submissions due BEFORE class
