CPWC Day 82 - Latin America in the 20th Century

Objective:   Evaluate the course of independence in Latin America.  Investigate authoritarianism & liberalism in 20th century Latin America.

Task:  Good morning!  When you arrive to class, please get out your "Independence in Latin America" packet.  We'll begin class with a review and discussion of select independence movements in Latin America.  Then, you'll examine the dictatorship of General Pinochet in Chile.  Finally, we'll read an article about neo-liberalism in the late 20th century.

Homework:
  • Friday, June 5 - Cumulative map quiz
  • Monday, June 8 - CPWC Final Exam for seniors in LGI
  • Tuesday, June 9 - Current Events Extra Credit due by 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday, June 10 - CPWC Final Exam at 7:35 am

Use one or more of the news sources below to find recent news articles relating to topics we've studied in quarter 2.  Create citations and annotations in NoodleTools.  The annotation MUST include a summary AND an explanation of how the article relates to our studies.  Share your work with the "CPWC Quarter 4 Extra Credit" dropbox.
Each citation/annotation is worth up to 5 points and you may complete up to 3 per unit (East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, & Oceania, & Latin America).
