CPWC Day 49 - Condensed History of China

Objective:  Summarize the impact of and Chinese reaction to Western imperialism.

Task:  After you've recorded the daily objective, we'll have a quick objectives check.  Then, I'll collect your notes on "Roles of Women in China."  We'll begin lessons today finishing up our notes on the religions and philosophies of East Asia.  Next, we'll use the Moodle to take notes on the history of China.  Finally, we'll end class with an exit ticket.

HWC Day 49 - Religion & History in China

Objectives:  Examine the ideas and influence of indigenous and diffused religions in East Asia.  Summarize the impact of and Chinese reaction to Western imperialism.

Task:  We have a very busy class today!  First, we'll finish our notes on the religions and philosophies of East Asia.  Then, we'll use the Moodle to spend a few minutes reviewing our China timeline.  Finally, we'll end class with our Boxer Rebellion fishbowl.

CPWC Day 48 - Religions, Philosophy, & History of China

Objective:  Examine the ideas and influence of indigenous and diffused religions and philosophies in East Asia.

Task:  Once you've finished recording the daily objective, please turn in your East Asia physical map to the front of the the classroom and get out some lined paper to take notes.  We'll spend the first part of class taking notes on the religions and philosophies of East Asia.  Then, you'll get out the computers to research select events in the history of China.

Objective:  Examine the influence of indigenous religions and philosophies on East Asian history and culture.

Task:  At the beginning of class you will submit your China timeline.  While I'm checking  timelines for completion, you'll read an article and answer questions on the tradition of footbinding in China.  After homework has been checked, we'll take notes on the religions and philosophies of East Asia.  Finally, we'll spend the last part of class discussing the trends and aberrations in China's history.
