Objective:  Identify unique cultural, historical, and geographic features of South Asia.

Task:  Good morning!  To begin class, we'll finish our notes on the history of South Asia.  We'll also consider the role of the British East India Company.  Then, you'll complete a close reading activity on the significance of the cow in India.

Objective:  Assess knowledge and understanding of the foundations of culture and geography and the cultural regions of Africa, Southwest, Asia, Central Asia and Europe.

Task:  Please clear your desks, and take out a pencil. On the Scantron sheet, fill out your name, today's date, and CPWC Midterm Exam as the subject. You may use the entire class block to work on your midterm. If you do finish early, please take out your textbooks and work on your notes for our next unit: East Asia.

Objective:  Introduce class procedures and expectations and begin to develop class rapport.

CPWC Day 81 - Final Exam Review

Objective:  Review course content and main ideas for final exam.

Task:  We'll begin class by going over the review crossword puzzle.  Then, I'll answer questions from the final exam study guide.  Finally, we'll spend the last portion of class playing Jeopardy.

CPWC Day 5 - Themes of Geography & Map Skills

Objective: Consider the themes of geography.  Practice using latitude and longitude to identify absolute location.

Task:  We'll start class with some worksheets to practice using latitude and longitude and read about "The Importance of Geography."   Then, after we review the answers, we'll take some time to discuss and check your understanding of chapter 1 of your text.  Finally, we'll watch What is Geography?  and examine the five themes of geography more closely.

Objective: Discuss central themes in Latin American geography, history, and culture.

Task:  After discussing the daily objective, you'll get out your reading notes and a pencil in preparation for the chapter 10 reading quiz.  When you've finished the reading quiz, please pick up the crossword and work on this review until everyone has finished the quiz.  After all have finished the quiz, we'll take  review "Slavery & Revolution" and finish our notes on Latin America.  Finally, we'll spend the remainder of class looking at Hugo Chavez.

Objectives: Locate and identify key locations on a map of Latin America.  Evaluate the impact of geography on the history and development of Latin America.

Task:  To start class, we'll finish our Southeast Asia review notes.  Then, I'll collect your Latin America maps and we'll prepare for the chapter 9 reading quiz.  After you finish the quiz, please get out your textbook and begin reading notes on chapter 10 for Friday's reading quiz.  When everyone has finished the quiz, we'll review the Latin America and Europe maps in preparation for Thursday's map quiz.  Finally, we'll spend the last portion of class watching a video on the geography of Latin America.

CPWC Day 66 - South Asia Wrap-Up

Objective:  Appraise the various ways in which tradition and modernization interact in South Asia.

Task:  As you finish recording the daily objective, please get out your "Green Revolution" reading and questions.  Turn them in on the sideboard and pick up "Seeds of Suicide."   We'll spend the beginning of class watching and answering the questions on the documentary "Seeds of Suicide."   Next, we'll review the "Green Revolution" reading and regional study.  Finally, we'll use any remaining time to review for tomorrow's test.
