CPWC Day 30 - Condensed History of the Region

Objectives:  Examine the emergence of monotheism in Southwest Asia.  Define the similarities and differences between Sunni and Shia Islam.

Task:  Good morning!  When you arrive to class, please complete "Unit 3 Cities Review" (in Geography Resources folder).   After our review,  you'll open up your notes on Sunni & Shia Islam.  Use these notes to answer the three essential questions with a partner.   Then, we'll explore select historical developments in the region before you explore the Ottoman Empire.
