Soc Day 1 - Welcome!

Objective:  Establish class rules and expectations and build class rapport.  Investigate the manner in which society impacts the individual.

Task:  Welcome to sociology class!  Today we'll begin with the usual first day of class activities including attendance, seating assignments, and a review of class rules and expectations. We'll also spend some time with an introduction to some of the class resources such as the textbook, Schoology, & Notability.  Then, we'll jump right into the course with your Pioneers of Sociology project assignment.

Homework:
  • Thursday, January 28 - Student Information Sheet (via Schoology) due by 3:00 pm
  • Friday, January 29 - Parent Information Sheet & email due by 11:59 pm
  • Friday, January 29 - "What is Sociology?" discussion
  • Monday, February 1 - Pioneers posts due on VoiceThread by 9:00 am
  • Tuesday, February 2 - Bring headphones or earbuds to class!
  • Wednesday, February 3 - "What is Sociology?"  class discussion
  • Thursday, February 4 - Unit 1 Vocabulary due
