Soc Day 2 - What is Sociology?

Objective:  Investigate the manner in which society impacts the individual.

Task:  Good morning!  When you arrive to class, please open up "Who Am I?"  We'll finish our discussion and describe how this activity will relate to our studies.

Then, you'll pair up for your first project, "Pioneers of Sociology" and how to use VoiceThread. Each partnership will add AUDIO posts to our collaborative VoiceThread.  You should provide the following information for your sociologist:
  1. Relevant biographical information (ex. When & where did he/she live?  What were the political/social/economic conditions that contributed to his/her perspective?)
  2. Contributions to the field (ex. Essential concepts and ideas that shaped sociology)
If you work efficiently, you should be able to finish your research AND audio posts to our VoiceThread by the end of class on Thursday.  You should use AT LEAST 2 different sources to gather information - you must share your citations with my "Pioneers of Sociology - Spring 17" dropbox in Noodletools.

Finally, if any time remains, we'll begin our notes on sociology or work on the unit 1 vocabulary.
