Task:  Today we'll wrap up our discussion on the history of South Asia and finish checking the review packet.  Specifically, we'll examine the impact of the Amritsar massacre and the power of non-violent resistance.  Finally, we'll wrap up the class with an examination of the Taliban.

Objectives:  Analyze the impact of imperialism and nationalism on South Asia. Evaluate the interpretation of historical events.

Task: After you've recorded the daily objective, please turn in your homework to the back of the room and pick up "The White Man's Burden."  Read this document and answer the following questions:

3. What is this poem about?  Select one excerpt that best illustrates the main idea of this poem.

Objectives:  Describe the major historical developments of South Asia prior to European encroachment.  

Pd. 3-4 Task: After you finish recording the daily objective, please hand in your South Asia map AND your chronology packet on the computer cart.  Get out your computer, return to your desk, and log in to the Moodle.  Once you're on the Moodle, scroll down to unit 6 and use your notes to complete the "South Asia Religions Review" activity.   When you finish the religions review, pick up the worksheet from Mrs. Friday and work on this until we move on.  Next, we'll review the chronology packet.  Finally, you'll post an "exit ticket" to the forum on the Moodle.

CPWC Day 60 - South Asia Religions

Objective:  Examine the religious and philosophical traditions that have shaped the culture of South Asia.

Task:  After you've recorded the daily objective, please clear your desks of everything except a pencil and your reading notes.  We'll start with a quiz to check your understanding of chapter 24.   When you finish the quiz, please take it to the back of the room and pick up the "Monsoons" worksheet packet.   We'll use the remainder of class to take notes on the religions of South Asia.

HWC Day 60 - FCP Summit

Objective: Participate in a student summit to reflect upon experiences on the Flat Classroom Project.

Task:  Instead of writing down the daily objective please hand in your FCP summit rubrics and get out your computer.  Log into the Moodle and proceed into the Summit room.  Unfortunately, the other class will not be able to join us but hopefully we will have some other FCP teachers and students join us for the summit.  As you participate in the Summit, please remember to maintain professional decorum.  If there is time after the Summit, we'll spend the remainder of class researching the religions of South Asia.

CPWC Day 59 - South Asia Geography (cont.)

Objectives: Debrief and reflect on the trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage.  Identify and label countries, cities, bodies of water, and major geographic features of South Asia.

Task:  Please get out your South Asia map and turn it in as soon as you arrive to class.  Then, we'll begin class with our Museum of Jewish Heritage post-visit activities.  Next, you'll complete the video review activity using our notes from yesterday.  When you finish the video check, please lay it on the computer cart, pick up the Himalayas reading comprehension sheet, and get out your computer.   Use the "Himalayas" document on the Moodle to answer the questions.  Then, return your computer, hand in your Himalayas questions and pick up the "Monsoons" worksheet packet to work on for the remainder of class.
