CPWC Day 69 - Exploring Southeast Asia


Objective:  Locate and identify key locations in Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania.  

Task:  After you've recorded the daily objective, please get out your reading notes and a pencil in preparation for your reading quiz.  After you complete the reading quiz, please get out your work from yesterday (maps & editorial) and continue working on these activities.

HWC Day 69 - Culture Food Party & Southeast Asia Intro.


Objectives:  Examine totalitarianism, nationalism, and democracy in Myanmar.

Task:  Please hand in your R&R rubric at the beginning of class.  Today, we'll spend some time sharing the cultural implications of the foods we eat.  Then, after we've cleaned up our snacks, you'll complete the Myanmar case study (on the Moodle).

Reminder:  The FCP Awards ceremony will be held from 1:30-2:15 this afternoon.  Please feel free to join me IF your period 11 teacher feels that you can afford to miss class.

CPWC Day 68 - Geography of Southeast Asia, Australia, & Oceania

Objective:  Locate and identify key locations in Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania.  

Task:  After you've recorded the daily objective, we'll spend a few minutes introducing unit 7 with a worksheet packet on cultural diversity in Southeast Asia.    Then you'll split into groups to complete station activities on the geography of Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania.

  • Station #2 - Physical Map of Southeast Asia, Oceania, & Australia
  • Stations #3 & 4 - Case Study: Industrialization in Southeast Asia (Research & write editorial in favor of OR against industrialization in Southeast Asia)

Objectives:  Continue gathering library resources for the research/reflection essay.  Assess knowledge and understanding of unit 6, South Asia.

Task:  We'll begin class in the library where you'll continue gathering resources for your research/reflection essay.  Then, we'll go back to the classroom to take the unit 6 test.
