CPWC Day 80 - Spanish Colonies in the Americas

Objective:  Investigate the impact of slavery on the development of Latin America.

Task:  Bom dia!  When you arrive to class, please get out your reading notes for chapter 11, sections 1 & 2 and your "Slavery & Revolution in Latin America" worksheet.  We'll take the first few minutes of class to check your homework.  Then, you'll work with a partner for a short review game.  Then, we'll review the worksheet packet from yesterday.  Finally, we'll work as a class to investigate colonialism and independence in Mexico.

HWC Day 74 - Slavery & Revolution in Latin America

Objectives:  Define unique physical geography of Latin America.  Investigate indigenous cultures of Latin America.

Task:  Bom dia!  As you arrive to class, please leave your public awareness rubric on the podium.  Get out your "Slavery & Revolution" investigation from Friday.  We'll spend the first portion of class reviewing the content on the worksheet and then we'll watch a documentary on the Haitian Revolution.

Homework:
  • TODAY- R&R public awareness mp4 shared with Mrs. Friday by 3:00 *5 bonus points for any submissions on or before May 29 at 3:00

Western Civ Day 34 - Napoleon & the Rise of Nationalism

Objective:  Evaluate Napoleon's impact on Europe.  Investigate the evolution of nationalism in 19th century Europe.

Task:  Bonjour!  We'll begin with a short review of the rise and rule of Napoleon.  Then, we'll watch a short video on the political developments in Europe during the 19th century.  Finally, you'll work in small groups to investigate the age of Metternich.

CPWC Day 79 - Latin America Map Quiz & Colonialism in Latin America

Objective:  Assess knowledge of the geography of Latin America.  Investigate the impact of slavery on the development of Latin America.

Task:  Bom dia!  When you arrive to class, please get out a pen or pencil in preparation for the map quiz.  After you've finished the quiz, please pick up and complete the worksheet packet from Mrs. Friday.  After everyone has finished the map quiz, we'll finish the documentary on the Haitian Revolution.  Finally, we'll discuss the global significance of the revolution in Haiti.
