HWC Day 23 - Unit 2 Test

Objectives:   Assess knowledge and understanding of the geography, history, culture, and contemporary status of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Task:  Happy Wednesday! When you arrive to please clear your desks of everything except for a pencil.  You'll have the entire class to complete your test.  As you take the test, please read each question carefully and select the best possible answer.  If you are unsure of the answer, try to eliminate one or two choices.  Don't spend too much time on any single question - its likely you may find clues to help you figure out the answer later in the test.  For the short answer questions, make sure that you fully answer the question with relevant details to show your understanding.  Finally, before handing in your test, be sure to double check your work.

Media Day 22 - Communicating Through Media

Objective: Apply knowledge of communication through the creation of media texts.

Task:  Happy Wednesday!  We'll continue our work from yesterday and apply your understanding of communication through the creation of media texts.  As you work, please make sure to periodically check back to the rubric to ensure that you are meeting all requirements.  Remember, your project must include three media texts:

• At least ONE visual text and ONE written text
• As a group, your texts must include an INFORMATIVE piece, a PERSUASIVE piece, and an ENTERTAINMENT piece

CPWC Day 23 - Introduction North Africa, Southwest Asia, Transcaucasia, & Central Asia

Objective:  Identify the geographic and cultural characteristics that define the Arab World.  Describe the similarities and differences of the monotheistic religions.

Task:   Marhabaan!  When you arrive to class, please upload your 19.2 reading notes and your North Africa map to the appropriate Schoology drop boxes.  Then, download and complete the Nile River WS.  After reviewing the worksheet, we'll split into groups to "read" the music video below.  Finally, for the remainder of class, you'll use close reading strategies to read "Heirs of Abraham."
