HWC Day 82 - Final Exam Review

Thank you for making this a memorable class!  If you are traveling this summer, please consider bringing back a postcard for my bulletin board.  Have a great summer break!

Objectives:  Sample foods from various cultures.  Review essential concepts for the final exam!

Task: Good afternoon!  To begin class, those who brought in treats to share will explain the cultural significance and ingredients.  We'll all have chance to sample the foods before we get out the computers for a game of Kahoot.  Then, interested students can get seconds on the snacks as we get into teams to play Jeopardy!

West Civ Day 40 - Course Review & Celebration

Thank you for a very enjoyable quarter!  It was a pleasure to teach you and I hope you'll be able to use some of your new knowledge of European history to use in the future.  Enjoy your summer break!

Objective:   Review essential course content.

Task:  Good morning!  Today, we'll wrap up our studies of Western Civilization with a review game and pizza party.  After we eat our pizza, we'll play a game of Kahoot to review essential concepts from the course.  Then, we'll visit the "Materials Processing Class" to look at their products.

Objective:   Review essential concepts and content for the final exam.

Task:  Good morning!  We'll devote our entire class to reviewing for the final exam.  First, you'll get computers out for a game of Kahoot.  Then, we'll form teams and use the white boards to play Jeopardy!  Finally, if there is time remaining, I'll answer any questions about the study guide.

HWC Day 81 - Latin America Wrap-up

Objectives:  Evaluate political, cultural, and social developments in Latin America at the end of the 20th century.

Task:  Happy Monday!  We'll begin class with a short discussion on the ways in which economic interdependence impacts the countries of Latin America.  Then, we'll finish our examination of Latin America with notes on the region.  Finally, at the end of class, I'll return and we'll discuss your research papers.

Objective:   Assess knowledge and understanding of the major developments of Western Civilization.  

Task:  Happy Monday!  When you arrive to class, please get out a pencil, your notebook, and a textbook in preparation for your test. You'll use the first portion of class to finish your test. Then, we'll spend the last portion of class discussing the ideas and impact of the Communist Manifesto.

Task:  Good morning & happy Monday!  As you arrive to class, we'll return your "Slavery & Revolution" worksheet and your cumulative map quiz.  Then, we'll finish our Latin America wrap-up.  Finally, we'll end class with a review of the final exam crossword puzzle.

Objectives:  Analyze the course of independence in Latin America.  Evaluate public awareness announcements.

Task:  Good afternoon!  When you arrive to class, please get out a computer in preparation for the peer reviews.  Share your public awareness message with your peer reviewers.  After you complete the peer review, you'll investigate the course of independence in Latin America.  Finally, we'll finish with a discussion of the similarities and differences of the various independence movements.

Task:  Guten tag!  When you arrive to class, please get out your DBQ on the causes of the Industrial Revolution.  We'll form a discussion circle to review the DBQ and to take notes on the Industrial Revolution.  Finally, we'll end class with an examination on the societal, political, and economic changes wrought by industrialization.
